During the Peace Party

Here are some tips to keep things running smoothly during the Peace Party:

Assign a Timekeeper - Assign a volunteer ahead of time to keep track of time during your Peace Party. As the host, it’s very easy to lose track of time once people start arriving so your timekeeper can help you keep things running on time.

Food & Drink - Don’t forget to plan time to eat during your Peace Party. Either before the film, during the film, during the discussion, or at the end of the evening.

Assign a Note Taker - When your group gets to the stage of identifying priority issues and developing follow-up actions, assign one person to record ideas and next steps. The folks at Peace Action will want to know all about the Peace Party afterward.

Take Pictures & Video - Capture the occasion by taking group pictures, some candid shots of people in conversation, and even the food.

Engage Your Guests - Planning is hard work but don’t forget to engage your guests. If the host is involved in the discussion, the guests will join in too. Finish all of your Peace Party set-up well before hand so you can focus on people, not tasks, once the Peace Party has started.
